GIFTED COLLAB
FREquently asked questions

Which Brands and Retailers are offering gifted collabs?

At any given time, different Brands and Retailers may be offering gifted collabs. We typically announce these opportunities in notifications, newsletters, and on our Instagram page.

How do I apply for a gifted collab?

When you're logged in, click on Brands and then click on the Brand you wish to partner with. If there is a Gifted Collab available, the link will be displayed next to the Product link. Click that link and you'll be directed to a form to fill out. Be sure to read the details to see what products are being offered and what is required for the gifted collab and only apply if you can fulfill the requirements.

Most Brands and Retailers require one reel and an Instagram story of the reel with the affiliate link, but some Brands might have additional requirements.

What information about me do Brands or Retailers see when I apply?

When you apply for a gifted collab, Retailers will receive the following information: your name, user name, email, a link to your profile, and general performance stats such as the number of clicks and the total dollar amount of sales you've generated on the Audenticity platform. They will also see any additional information you entered into the form.

In addition, Brands can view your Profile and they will look at it to determine the following: what social media accounts you have and your following, the products you've favorited on Audenticity, the collections you've created, your bio, and your family details. Since many products are for a specific age range, they might be very interested in the age of your children.

Be sure to update your profile, make sure your social accounts are correct, add your favorite products, and create collections.

How do I stand out from the crowd of applicants?

If you’ve participated in a gifted collab on Audenticity before, be sure to upload your pictures and videos or a link to your post (Instagram, YouTube, blog post) under that Brand’s Content Submissions. When you apply to new gifted collabs, they’ll be able to see your prior work for gifted collabs on the platform. This will give them confidence that you’ll follow through on posting and that your posts are quality.

Since Brands can see your Performance Statistics, if you have shared trackable links and generated clicks and sales, this will give them the confidence that you can help them generate sales.

What happens if I receive a product and don’t post?

If you apply for a gifted collab and the Brand sends you product (as verified through a tracking number), the Brand expects that you will live up to your end of the deal and post according to the terms of the application. If you have not posted within the requisite timeframe, typically two weeks, a Brand representative will likely follow up with you. If you cannot post about the product in a positive light, be honest with the brand. You can chat with them through the Chat feature on the site.

If an advocate ghosts a Brand, the Brand loses money on the product they shipped and the opportunity cost of working with another content creator. The Brand reports these content creators to Audenticity and they are blacklisted from future gifted collabs from that Brand as well as all other Brands on Audenticity.

Blacklisted advocates cannot participate in future gifted collabs but they can still earn commissions through affiliate links and click campaigns. If you cannot resolve the issue or you think you’ve been blacklisted in error, please reach out to support@audenticity.com.

I applied for a gifted collab, but I haven’t heard anything from the Brand.

Brands may receive many more applicants than they can accept, especially if they can only offer a limited number of products. They may only reach out to advocates they want to work with right now, reserving all the other applicants for the near future. While you may not hear back right away, the Brand may reach out later when they are ready to ship you a gift.

Do I need to tell people that I received the product as a gifted collab?

The FTC requires clear and conspicuous disclosure if you receive a free item, cash, or payment to review or promote a product - this includes receiving a commission on the sale of a product. There is no standard disclosure language, so you should simply provide readers/followers with essential information in close proximity to the relevant claim or product feature. One suggestion is to include a hashtag #gifted.
